M. Saleem Sahgal was the founding partner of Walker Martineau Saleem. A legal luminary, he was a force to be reckoned with in the world of law, leaving an indelible mark on the legal profession of Pakistan.

Mr. Sahgal's passion for law was evident from the start of his academic career, where he achieved academic distinctions that set him apart from his peers. After obtaining his LL.B. degree from the University Law College, Lahore, he pursued an LL.M. degree from University College, London. He was later called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn, London, and even taught as a Lecturer in Law at the College of Industrial and Commercial Studies, London.

Returning to Pakistan, he was granted a License by the Bar Counsel, and his illustrious career in law continued to soar. He specialized in banking and finance laws, criminal law, arbitrations, and tax matters, and had a keen interest in the Islamic Law of Banking. He worked as legal counsel to a number of local and foreign banks, rendering advisory assistance on regulatory matters pertaining to banking and securities. He was also a visiting lecturer in Constitutional and Administrative laws at the Pakistan Civil Services Academy, Lahore.

Mr. Sahgal's incredible talent and passion for the law made him one of the foremost litigating attorneys in Pakistan. His expressive and impressive way of presentation, articulation, and erudition left an unforgettable impression on the International Bar Association and the Lawyers community of Pakistan. His legacy includes the professional masterpieces he created for his law firm in the form of lawyers, leaving an indelible mark on the memories of all those who had the honor to work under his guidance.
